At Hosensack Design Studios I offer furniture in the studio for sale,
but usually work on request for commissioned pieces. Painting on
previously finished furniture is possible, but requires review of the
piece to be painted. The preference is to paint on unfinished items,
but feel free to make inquiry.* Locally, I am available to create wall
murals for a variety of properly prepared areas in your home. A
popular request is for a themed nursery or child's room, where one
or several pieces of furniture complement a mural on your child's
wall. Query regarding a visit to your home to obtain a free estimate.
If you wish to commission a work, providing a photograph of a
particular scene or a copy of your child's favorite storybook during
the process is a tremendous aid in accomplishing the desired finish to
your piece. However, please remember that you will be receiving an
artist's interpretation and not an exact replica of what you have
provided. I will work to come as close to accommodating your
requests as practicable.
Pricing varies, but the following is being supplied to give a general
idea. An item similar to the child's Winter Chair or Forest Musician's
Chair would sell for between $65 and $75. An item such as the
Dragon Bench or the Storybook Bench are larger pieces requiring
more detailed work and would sell for between $450 and $650. The
more detailed a piece, the more labor intensive. The basic pricing
rule is the cost of the piece of furniture, plus labor.
